How to take the best photos of your baby between sessions with your Professional Photographer | Austin and Round Rock Newborn and Baby Photographer

The newborn to baby to toddler phase happens so quickly. You don’t want to miss taking photos of your baby in between your milestone sessions with your professional photographer.

In order to take great photos, all you need is a camera!

Sounds pretty basic, but it’s definitely true. Here are some tips to take great photos of your baby.

  1. Make sure you have enough light.
The number one problem why phones and other cameras get blurry pictures is because there’s not enough light to have a fast enough shutter speed. Camera phones are usually set to Auto which adjusts the shutter speed based on light. If your phone doesn’t sense enough light, it lowers the shutter speed which can cause blurriness and motion in your pictures.

  2. Use Selective Focus for a cute portrait.
Most phones these days have a really cool feature called Selective focus. If you tap where to focus your photo, it will create a beautiful blur in the background. That function is awesome for portraits of your baby!

  3. Use the Night mode.
Trying to take a cute baby pic at night of your child sleeping. You definitely don’t want to turn the lights, so turn your phone to night mode. You’ll see the darkness on your phone go away as the camera adjusts to a night photo. This is ideal for taking those super cute sleeping baby pictures in their crib!

While in between your baby’s milestone session with your professional photographer, don’t miss out on all those cute opportunities to take beautiful photos of your little one at home or out and about. You want to capture those everyday moments just as much as you want professional photos of your baby!
