“Emily is one of Austin’s most noted family photographers, with a skill for capturing people living their truth. She captures the stories that hold families together — the ones parents pass down to their children to be sources of strength as they head out into the world. Her lifestyle portraits of individuals — her branding portraits — take this same idea and put it to different use. They show the quiet confidence and strength of someone living their conviction.”

“Sweet, timely, and professional”

Just wanted share how amazing I thought you were at our school the other day . It was nice and refreshing , and as a parent to see you come in and work with each and every one of the kiddos including mine in such a sweet , timely and professional manner all the while making them comfortable .We absolutely love our school pictures and all the school families are so excited! They are just perfect!

-C.M.

“Our photos turned out amazing!”

Emily did a wonderful job on our Mother-daughter photos. She was quick on her feet to find options that worked with a cranky toddler. Despite my daughter needing a nap, our photos turned out amazing and you would never know she was fussing and not wanting to be there. We look forward to using her again in the future.

"The entire session was perfect"

Emily did a wonderful job with our newborn pictures.  Our son was only 1 week old and she had wonderful ideas on how to bring out his "camera presence" and brought some great backdrops and toys to pose him with.  The entire session was perfect and we would definitely use her for our photography needs again.

“Beautiful photographs.”

We recently met Emily for a "mommy and me" session with my three boys. She was very relaxed and calm even with my boys being busy and really wanting to explore the park! She work diligently (but never made us feel rushed or pressured) capturing us being silly and loving! The result is beautiful photographs that capture each of my sons personality perfectly!

“Way beyond our expectations!”

We were married on May 4th of this year and thanks to Emily our photos were amazing. The photos that she took were way beyond our expectations. She has a great eye for catching those special moments. Thank you Emily.

"Wonderful Photographer"

Emily is a wonderful photographer. I had the privilege of having my engagement pictures and my wedding pictures taken by Emily. I really love her outdoor pictures, black and white photos, and the pictures she captures of children simply being kids.

-K.E.

Emily is a very professional but very down to earth photographer. She is great at helping your family get those natural and flattering poses that you want in photos. And if you are worried about taking photos of your kids, don't worry! She has 4 kids and is super understanding of their attitudes and ways to get them to participate! My kids were perfectly happy to take photos with her behind the camera. Our photos are ones that we will cherish always!

 What should I wear?

Clothing is a very important part of your session.  I want your personal style and taste to be reflected in your clothing choices while making sure your clothing photographs well.  Color, textures, and layer can add wonderful depth, dimension and beauty to your session.  Some good choices of clothing include (but are definitely not limited to) jean jackets, flowing dresses and skirts, hats, scarves, crocheted dresses, lace, floppy hats, and layered shirts.  Accessories also add interesting detail to shoots such as long necklaces, cool shoes, bows, and cute hats.  Patterns such as plaid, polka dots, and flowers can be worn.  However brand name logos, busy and/or bright patterns, and graphics can be distracting and take away from your photographs.

Color coordinating is an excellent idea.  I wrote a blog article about color coordination here which can be quite helpful with finding complimentary colors when choosing outfits.  White, blacks, greys, and browns are beautiful neutral colors that can be spiced up when other colors are added into the mix.  You don't want to go overboard with the amount of colors.  A good rule of thumb would be to choose 2-3 complimentary colors to go with a neutral.  And in the end, I want your photographs to turn out beautifully and showcase who you are.  Feel free to discuss your outfit choices with me, and I will help lead you in the right direction for your photography session.

 Location, location, location!

I shoot both indoors and outdoors. I am happy to come into your home and photograph your family in your own personal environment. Or we can meet at an outdoor location such as parks, lakes, fields, city streets, and urban areas. We will discuss what you are wanting and find the best place to photograph for you.

I do not have a dedicated studio space for indoor photo sessions, I will have to rent out a location. As per it is the client’s request to have their portrait session indoors, the client will have to pay the rental fee for the indoor location unless otherwise specified by myself.

When will I receive my images?

I typically try to have sneak peeks, 1-3 images, within a week of your session.  I usually share these on Facebook with your permission.  Your gallery will be available for you to review within 2 weeks of your session date.  From there, you can browse your entire photo session in an online gallery and select which photos will be in your final collection.

I truly believe in the importance of printing your photos, so I offer a selection of high quality professional prints, canvases, and metal prints for you to choose from if you would like to have prints made.
