I’ve been a photographer for 7 years.

I have been a Mom to four kids for over 10 years.

So I’m comfortable saying, I ‘understand’ kids. I get it. All kids have their quirks. And all children can definitely have a mind of their own.

And ‘shockingly’, sometimes children do not want to cooperate during a photo shoot!

Can you believe it?!

If you’re a parent, then yes, you can definitely believe it! And as a parent, this trait can be extremely frustrating during a photo shoot.

I never force them to do something they don’t want.

Toddlers sometimes do not want to cooperate. I may be trying to get them to stay in a certain spot or look at me or something they just do not want to do. But if they are not feeling it, I won’t force them to do it. But I will re-direct them to something them might enjoy or something they want to do. I will work with your child and create beautiful photos for you.

I sing, dance, and act a little silly!

Not to toot my own horn, but I can make kids laugh at me. Try not to be jealous! (wink!) After having several toddlers who did not feel like cooperating during their family photo shoots, I learned a few tricks. And singing Baby Shark is one of them! I also make fun faces and tell corny jokes.

I let them run around.

Staying in one place smiling or looking at the camera for a few minutes feels like a life time to a child. Even to adults sometimes too! I let them run around, act goofy, and just be a kid. I love pulling them aside and asking them to run to Mom and Dad as a secret. This allows them to be more interactive during the photo shoot.

I roll with it!

If I’ve pulled out all my tricks and you’ve pulled out all your ticks, and your child still isn’t feeling it. I roll with it. I’m a Mom too, and I get it. Some days kids just aren’t feeling it no matter what.
